Constructed during the 1930s as a Works Progress Administration project, Duncan Park Lake is a Spartanburg treasure – and so is the surrounding neighborhood. The lake and adjoining walking trails, tennis courts, and ball fields comprise one of Spartanburg’s most vibrant recreational settings. About six miles of off-road bicycling trails were constructed in the park just a few years ago. On any sunny day, you’ll see residents and visitors playing, jogging, or feeding ducks.
